PMV Client Steps to the Plate for a Very Special Team

One thing that separate’s PMV from your typical IT vendor is our sincere interest to build strong relationships with our clients in order  to support their mission and business objective. Fortunately for us, these strong relationships allow PMV to be aware of our client’s personal ventures as well. It is with that same spirit in which we support our client’s business needs, that PMV also takes an interest in our client’s community involvement. This month, TEAM PMV would like to salute Bob Bilkie, of Sigma Investments, for his involvement with The Miracle League.

"The Miracle League" is a charitable organization that provides children with mental and/or physical challenges an opportunity to play baseball as a team member in an organized league. These kids needed a place to play, so a specially equipped field called the "Field of Dreams" was built in Conyers Georgia. At present, there are 225 custom-designed field in use. The fields incorporates a cushioned synthetic turf that accommodates wheelchairs and other walking assistance devices, while helping prevent injuries. In other words, it provides a level-playing field where physically and mentally challenged children can hit, run, and catch- just like the best of them.

As Co-Chairperson of the Miracle League field in Plymouth Project Committee, Bob is committed to the building of a Miracle League Field in Plymouth, MI. The project is about $1.1M with $325,000 being raised thus far. The committee is hopeful that they can break ground in spring of 2011, and begin play in late summer of that same year. Learn more

During each Miracle League game, every child is given an opportunity to hit the ball and score a run. Miracle League team members are assigned “buddies” who assist them in hitting the ball and "running" the bases. Buddies can be fellow schoolmates, parents, college students, business leaders or anyone who wishes to volunteer their time to give a child the gift of baseball.

Team PMV recognizes Bob for his dedication to this project and we wish him great success.
